In Pennsylvania, 2005 Federal Sentencing Guidelines,Woman Admits Cocaine Possession

United States Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan announced today, January 13, 2006, that Katrina M. Graff Matthews, a resident of Monaca, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty in federal court to a charge of violating federal drug laws.

Matthews, age 28, of 400 Center Manor Drive, Trailer A11½, Monaca, Pennsylvania, pleaded guilty to one count before Chief United States District Judge Donetta W. Ambrose.

In connection with the guilty plea, Assistant United States Attorney Almon S. Burke, Jr. advised the court that on April 5, 2004, Matthews possessed 92.8 grams of cocaine.

Judge Ambrose scheduled sentencing for April 13, 2006, at 9:15 a.m. The law provides for a total sentence of one year in prison, a fine of $1,000, or both. Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, the actual sentence imposed is based upon the seriousness of the offense and the criminal history, if any, of the defendant.

The Drug Enforcement Administration, the Pennsylvania State Police and the Beaver County District Attorney's Office Detectives conducted the investigation that led to the prosecution of Katrina M. Graff Matthews.
